RacingLine R602 intake kit VWR12G7R603 - VAG TSI with MAF sensor

On 1.8/2.0 TSI engines with a MAF sensor, the stock airbox prioritizes quiet operation and restricts airflow. The RacingLine direct intake kit replaces it with a high-performance cold-air system, developed on Volkswagen Racing race cars, to free up engine breathing and gain torque and throttle response.

What a RacingLine direct intake changes

By drawing cooler, denser air from outside the engine bay and routing it to the turbo through a smooth path, airflow increases noticeably (up to +9%) and the turbo spools earlier. It is one of the first modifications to consider on a tuned car, alone or combined with a Stage 1 ECU tune.

Frequently asked questions

What real gain can be expected?

On its own, the intake mainly improves throttle response and removes the factory air restriction. Full potential is unlocked with an ECU tune, which needs this additional airflow.

Does the filter require maintenance?

Yes for foam filters: clean and re-oil regularly with the RacingLine oil and cleaner kit. Cotton versions also require upkeep.

What is the difference with the R600?

The R602 is the version for vehicles equipped with an air flow meter (MAF sensor), with a hose and geometry adapted so as not to disturb the measurement. Check for the presence of the MAF sensor before choosing the R600 or R602.
