Up! GTI: Small Footprint, Big Thrills

Launched in 2018, the Volkswagen Up! GTI is the sporty version of the German city car, combining urban agility with dynamic performance. It is powered by a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine delivering 115 hp at 5,000-5,500 rpm and 200 Nm of torque available from 2,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive.

This engine allows the Up! GTI to reach a top speed of 196 km/h and sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds, offering a good balance between responsiveness and efficiency. Its modest weight of about 1,070 kg and its sharp chassis, with MacPherson front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle, ensure precise road holding and playful handling, ideal in the city as well as on winding roads.

The Up! GTI also stands out with its 17-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front disc brakes, electric power steering, and GTI-specific equipment that reinforces its sporty character.

Very popular with customization enthusiasts, the Up! GTI offers good performance tuning potential, notably through engine remapping, intake and exhaust upgrades, as well as chassis modifications, improving its performance while preserving its reliability and agility.
