High-pressure fuel pump 2503071 Astemo for Audi A3/A1, Seat Leon/Altea/Toledo/Alhambra

Engine warning light on, sluggish acceleration, or even limp mode? On VAG 1.2/1.4 TSI (EA111) engines, the high-pressure pump is often the one wearing out, a common issue on Golf 6, Polo 5, Audi A1/A3, Seat Leon/Ibiza or Skoda Octavia/Fabia.

This Astemo (ex-Hitachi) pump is a new OE supplier part, delivered with its sealing gasket, compatible with VAG OEM references 03C127026 (C to S).

The unmistakable symptom

On the 1.2 and 1.4 TSI, one scenario keeps coming up on forums and in repair shop diagnostics: a slight metallic ticking at idle from the cylinder head side, followed by jerking on acceleration, an engine warning light, and sometimes a switch to limp mode when rail pressure drops too low. Diagnostics often point to code P0087 (rail pressure too low) or equivalent. In most cases, the culprit is the mechanical high-pressure pump driven by the camshaft, a part that on this engine has a reputation for failing between 100,000 and 150,000 km.

Why this Astemo pump

Astemo has taken over Hitachi production (same range, same industrial expertise, simple brand name change): you get a new pump with original tolerances, not a remanufactured part or a low-cost aftermarket alternative that prematurely wears the cam roller. It comes with its sealing gasket, ready to be fitted in place of the original pump without modification.

  • Supplied with sealing gasket

Hubshop advice

If your original pump starts ticking, don't wait: driving with a worn high-pressure pump can eventually put strain on the injectors and the ECU. Preventive replacement at the first symptoms avoids a more costly failure.
