The EGR valve delete plate Dynaparts, part number DP-ENG-EGR-PLATE-82, is designed for FORD OPEL 1.7 CDTI engines. It is intended for motorsport and engine performance use.

Compatibility

EGR plates and kits are developed for EGR valves rather than for specific vehicles, since the same engine or valve can fit many models. Compare the photos in the listing (engine blocks or valves) with your engine: if it matches, the product is compatible. You can also email a photo of your engine to customer service.

Installation

The product photos include an installation guide, with an arrow or drawing serving as instructions. A tube of engine silicone is offered at the bottom of the page to ensure a good seal.

Dashboard warning light

On recent engines (generally 2004 and later), a warning light may come on or the vehicle may switch to limp mode. Electronic intervention may then be required in addition to this mechanical delete. You can also drill the plate to create a restrictor orifice: it lets a small amount of exhaust gas through and prevents the ECU from detecting the modification.

Purpose of the delete

The EGR valve recirculates part of the exhaust gas into the intake to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx). This process fouls the engine and leans the air/fuel mixture. By blocking the valve, you improve combustion quality, and therefore engine efficiency and torque.
