The benchmark for spherical dogbone engine mounts

On MQB platforms (Audi RS3 8V.5/8Y and TTRS 8S), the original engine mount (the well-known “dogbone”) is the weak link once the powertrain is pushed: play, excessive movement of the engine/transmission unit under torque, imprecise gear changes, and wheel hop on launch. 034Motorsport completely redesigned this part with a billet T6-6061 aluminum spherical mount, combined with a self-lubricating PTFE-lined spherical bearing that keeps the natural articulation while eliminating play.

A complete pack, designed to fully address the problem

This Performance Pack does not just replace the mount: it also includes the two inserts (upper and lower) that fill the gaps in the original bracket, where residual play usually hides. The result: a drivetrain literally locked to the chassis, torque transmitted almost instantly, and noticeably crisper gear changes, whether with a manual or DSG gearbox.

Why the upper insert changes everything

During testing, 034Motorsport identified a critical point: under violent loads (repeated wheel hop, aggressive launches), the spherical mount combined with the lower insert alone generates a bending moment on the mount arm, which can lead to failure within a few cycles. The upper insert (patent pending) corrects this flaw by limiting movement of the upper puck, distributing the loads along the axis the part was designed for.
