Compatibility

The plate is designed for the EGR valve rather than for a specific vehicle model, since the same valve can fit many models. Compare the photos on the listing (engine blocks or valves) with your engine: if the valve is identical, the plate is compatible. You can also send a photo of your engine by email before ordering.

Installation

The photos on the listing include arrows and diagrams that serve as instructions. A tube of engine silicone is offered at the bottom of the page to ensure a perfect seal.

Dashboard warning light

On recent engines (generally 2004 and later), a warning light may come on or the vehicle may switch to limp mode. Electronic intervention may then be required in addition to the mechanical removal. It is also possible to drill the plate to create a restrictor orifice, or to order it pre-drilled from the drop-down menu: it lets through a small amount of gas and prevents the ECU from detecting the modification.

Why delete the EGR valve?

The EGR valve recirculates part of the exhaust gas into the intake to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx). For motorsport and engine performance purposes, deleting it aims to improve engine efficiency and torque.
