BMC Air Filter: Ref. 839/04
The original paper filter is convenient for first fit, but once you've tried a washable cotton filter, it's hard to go back. The BMC ref. 839/04, made from multi-ply oiled cotton gauze, lets through more air than paper while trapping particles effectively. Result: sharper throttle response, an engine that breathes better, and no more buying disposable filters.

Filter maintenance
Cleaning recommended every 15,000 to 20,000 km with the BMC maintenance kit (cleaner and re-oiling oil, sold separately). After washing, let it air dry, then re-oil before refitting.
