Why Do Manufacturing Lead Times Vary by Brand?
The Multi-Brand Challenge: Estimates vs. Reality
At Hubshop, we are proud to offer a comprehensive catalog through partnerships with around forty (40) brands specializing in performance, including names such as Scorpion, APR, Racingline, CTS Turbo, Ragazzon, BMC, Wagner Tuning and many more.
The law requires us to display an estimated delivery time. However, with so many suppliers, each with its own stock and production cycles, it is impossible for us to give you a firm date in real time. The displayed lead time is therefore an average estimate based on our history with the manufacturer concerned.
What Causes Lead Times to Vary
Lead time variations depend mainly on two factors: where the part comes from and its manufacturing status.
Made-to-Order Parts
Many high-performance parts are manufactured only to order, either to ensure production quality or because they are highly specific. In these cases, the factory starts production only after you have confirmed your purchase. This applies in particular to complex parts such as exhaust systems, wheel adapters and others listed in our terms and conditions. This process adds an unavoidable wait time due to production.
Parts from Foreign Suppliers
A large part of our catalog comes from suppliers based abroad (USA, Europe, United Kingdom, etc.). To ensure fast stock turnover while optimizing shipping costs and logistics, we have set up a grouped ordering system:
- We place our orders with certain foreign suppliers on the 1st and 15th of each month.
- This system provides two supply cycles per month, ensuring that your part is included in an order that will be placed quickly and reducing the overall wait.
This is why the delivery time will always depend on the date of your purchase relative to these two ordering windows.
Our Tips for Managing Your Order
To get the most accurate lead time possible for brands such as Scorpion or CTS Turbo, we strongly recommend that you contact the Hubshop team by phone or email before placing your order. We can then check the latest factory stock status.
Golden rule: Never schedule the installation of your part (with your mechanic or at a fitting center) until you have received and inspected the part yourself.
